I would like the ability to set, in preferences, how the calendar displays, mostly to expand it top to bottom to allow scheduling in 15-minute increments and have a less cramped display.

  Second this enthusiastically. I want to set my calendar to default weekly, but I don't see how to do this in the preferences, and every time I enter or edit a task, the calendar bounces back to monthly. Monthly view would be fine if I was only looking at 1-2 tasks per day but I have literally dozens of tasks/events/reminders/etc. on most days and the monthly view is too crowded and overwhelming.

  I support this suggestion, as @Pat Uelmen Huey says, when you have a lot of tasks etc, the view is very crowded.
