So I have some questions/issues as I read through some of the few new posts that are asking some of the same questions.
Questions/Suggestions/Confusions:
1. Can we get tasks and lists separated? Similar to how you would set it for type:data, but maybe allow us to filter out the "files" attached? This would give me the exact list I'm looking for if I type in type:data in the search box. Once again though, if I add anything other than 1 search criteria to that "Type:data" search, it breaks it and then shows all dated things again like it usually does.
2. Can we get some examples (if they are different than normal searching) in the Creating Collections article? I can do it like the search, but it doesn't say if it takes more than one search criteria or not, and if so how to type them in there. I can't seem to get more than one to work. If it can't, can that be added?
3. The advanced search assistant is broken. Doesn't matter what I put in for the search for the added criteria it never shows anything at all. I don't know if it's "broken" or if maybe the bug that is haunting the project list is messing this up too(where the list doesn't show up until you click the sort bar). I'm thinking some of these things I'm not going to put a lot of time in until that issue is fixed on the projects list so that I know if that broke other things or not.
The search system could really use a revamp or some major love. Searching should not be this hard to work out. Thanks much for the information in the articles though, that wiped out half of this list LOL as it allowed me other ways than the assistant which doesn't do anything at all.
Issues:
1. My info typed into tasks and lists keeps reverting to previous states constantly. I can't tell you how many times just in the past half hour I've had to retype stuff to put back what I had already changed it to 3 or 4 times already. Why is it doing this? It's probably the most irritating part of the app. Once I get it to stick it's fine, but sometimes I can end up retyping things quite often. I shouldn't ever have to do this.
2. I created a Project that I'm using as a template for the 3 diff tasks with generic info in them so I don't have to type so much (well should not have to), so I then can just copy the task to the project I want it in. Here's a really good bug for you. You know number 1 where I said it keeps changing my text back? Well I finally got the Template tasks to stay put and when I did I copied them to another project to use them. Guess what? It copied previous instances of that task (where I changed text etc, I'm still forming ideas on how to use it yet so I change the text a lot till I get what I think is good for me). So after it was all set in the template, it apparently didn't read from that instance of the template to copy it. Very confusing indeed.
I wish I could do screenshots or movies to show these text issues, but it's not 100% of them time, but it is a lot.
3. I have a Null listing somewhere that I cannot reach. I've tried adding it to a project so I could get rid of it, but all that does is make everything disappear (hmm maybe this is the disappearing culprit causing things to not show up?). I don't know how it got there or how to access it to get rid of it. It has a date too, not sure what's up here but could use some assistance on how to get rid of it in case it is what's causing some of my other issues.
I'll stop here as I've already reported plenty to go with these so I'll wait on some updates for things before going any further. Thanks again and Happy Holidays!
