Hey there,
Have been using Pagico for a few months now, and are really missing an export/import function to Excel or MS project. This will provide the tool with some significant valuable feature to support the task/project management process.

Absolutely! We're working on data importing as we speak.
How's this coming along?
The Event planner template is nice, and I'd like to make use of it, but manually retyping data is quite useless to me. Importing is quite a priority! I
I've just created an event project plan in Excel (on request - because that's what they want) but I want it in Pagico of course, and I don't want to enter all my data twice... But I can't even find CSV import for Pagico, let alone import direct from MS Excel or Project.
Am I missing something, or did it slip down the order of priorities? Is there a timeline you can share?
Hi Richard,
Thank you for your attention on this thread!
The reason that Pagico doesn't import CSV data into projects is because of the unpredictable data structure that everyone uses. For example, the way you create project plans in Excel could be completely different from the next user. So Pagico wouldn't know how to handle the data you have in the CSV format.
For simpler things, such as contact info, Pagico does import CSV formatted data. For instance, if you dropped in a CSV with a bunch of contacts and their contact properties, Pagico will import these properties as metadata for the contact objects.
But if you want, please reach out to us via email so we can chat about your needs. If we take a look at your Excel data structure and if it's a widely applicable format, maybe we can build something to support it. Please let us know.
Thank you!
This is such a cop out of an answer. So the problem every other app out there has with integrating data with a completely different app for you guys is a problem that can't be solved. Yet pretty much all of your competitors have found a solution of some kind, some better than others. The problem you describe is called mapping and the way you describe it is as if you think the problem is unique to Pagico. One of the simplest, low tech implementations I've seen is they provide an Excel template, you do the mapping outside of the app in Excel yourself, and then upload the file. Not all apps will translate cleanly with different hierarchy rules, dependencies or subtask layers, but having the bulk of your data in with dates, stakeholders, priorities, etc. is better than recreating all that data.
I was ready to give your app a try but the lack of this functionality would mean duplicating all that work a second time, which is rather ironic for an app that is supposed to save me time. So where mapping for you guys is a non-starter, lack of a data import function is a non-starter for me.
