Using Project Planner: The Fastest Way to Start a New Music Project with Clients

The Project Planner feature allows you and your client to put together their project request and send it your way without involving the usual email back-and-forth and coordination. This article describes the best ways to eliminate friction during the project starting phase.

The Guest Access Mode

Did you know? You can enable the Guest Access mode on your Project Planner so your client can submit project requests on their own. To do so, first go to your Project Planner (by clicking on the "New Work with Client" button in your Opusonix dashboard. Then, click on the "Share" button near the top right corner, and enable the Guest Access option.

Once the Guest Access mode is enabled, there are two ways to let your clients get started on their project requests.

Option 1: Sending them your planner link

Note that your planner link is a unique one and it's tied to your account. Simply copy your link and text it or email it to your client. Anyone with the link can submit project requests to you. Alternatively, you can use the built-in email functionality to send your planner link to a desired recipient.

Option 2: Embed your planner on your website

If you have a website and want people to be able to make work requests to your Opusonix account directly, you can embed your planner on your website using an iframe. The code to embed your planner page is:

<iframe width='100%' height='800' src='{your_planner_url}'></iframe>

Simply insert this code to the desired spot on your website. If your website is powered by a content management system such as WordPress, you can inject this code by selecting the "Insert Custom HTML" option, then paste in this code. Be sure to replace the {your_planner_url} with the actual planner link for your account.

Important Considerations

Because Guest Access is public by design, please be aware of the following:

1. Public Link Access

Anyone with your Project Planner link can submit requests. This includes the possibility of:

  • Unwanted or spam submissions

  • Irrelevant or malicious content

2. File Storage Responsibility

All files uploaded through Guest Access are stored in your Opusonix account and:

  • Count toward your storage quota

  • May incur costs depending on your plan

You are responsible for any storage usage generated through your public planner.

Managing Risks

Opusonix provides controls to help you manage Guest Access safely:

  • Disable Guest Access anytime
Turning off Guest Access will immediately disable public submissions.

  • Regenerate your planner link
If your link is shared too widely or compromised, you can generate a new one in your account settings.
This will invalidate the previous link.

Best Practices

To use Guest Access effectively:

  • Share your link only with intended clients

  • Regenerate your link periodically if used publicly

  • Monitor incoming requests before accepting

  • Disable Guest Access when not actively using it
