Review Mixes in the Track Workspace

The core functionality of Opusonix is the Track Workspace, where you can manage your review notes, track-specific checklists, files, and the audio tracks for your mixes.

Note: To create new track or album projects, go to your Opusonix Dashboard, then click on the "+" button near the top left corner.

The Notes Pod

This is like a Google Docs area for your track. You and your collaborators can use this notes area to organize your thoughts, or guide your review sessions. Every change you made will be visible to your collaborators in realtime, and all changes are saved instantly.

The Notes Pod supports basic formatting, as well as the embedding of links, images, and more. So if you have Youtube links, Bandcamp pages, or if you wish to create a basic checklist, you can use the Notes Pod.

The Action Items Pod

This is a track-specific todo list. It allows you to create tasks, set due dates and be reminded about the deadlines. To create a new task, simply type in the New Task prompt, which supports Natural Language Processing, so you can simply type out the desired dates/times (e.g. "Listen to the mix in a car by tomorrow 5pm"), and Opusonix will recognize and set the timestamp accordingly.

Hint: All time-sensitive actions should be created as a task. This ensures that the tasks show up in your (and your collaborators') Opusonix Dashboard, the calendar view, and they get included in the weekly project summary emails.

Further - you'll also see a progress bar for each track when you browse the projects in Opusonix. This gives you a quick glance on where the project is.

The File Collection Pod

Use the File Collection Pod to store project-related files, such as session files, mixes, scores, and any other documents that are relevant to this current track. Simply add file using the "Add File" button to select, or import files by dropping them onto the pod itself.

Starting from October 2025, you can now drag audio files from the File Collection Pod directly into the Audio Tracks pod for mix review. This streamlines your file collection workflow, as you and your collaborators can use the File Collection Pod as the starting point for all files, then drag out audio files for review purposes as needed.

The Audio Tracks Pod

Import audio files here to listen, annotate, comment and review. You can import multiple audio files here to compare. For example, import a reference track, or multiple versions of the same track to do A/B testing.

A/B Testing Your Tracks

To compare multiple audio files, simply start the playback, then click on various tracks to seamlessly switch over and listen for differences. In addition to using your cursor to click and select, you can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + [Number] to quickly switch to any specific track. You can press and hold the Ctrl key to see the track IDs.

Adding Comments

You can place the playhead anywhere, then click on the "Comment + "button on the playhead to create a comment at that spot. Alternatively, you can press the "M" key to quickly invoke the New Comment panel.

Faster Ways to Add Comments

When you are listening to a mix for the first time, chances are you want to listen to the whole thing and you probably have a lot of notes to add. During the playback, hit M key to quickly drop markers without interrupting the playback. Then, when you're done with a play through, you can come back and add in your comments to each marker.

You can also press and hold the M key during playback to create regions.

Deleting Tracks

If you no longer need a mix, or wish to "retire" a mix, you can click on the Trash icon near the bottom left corner of the desired track. This marks the track as "rejected" and puts it near the bottom of your tracks stack. This allows these tracks to take up less space while still preserving their comments and annotations. You can recover rejected tracks easily by clicking on the "Trash -> Up" icon.

Keeping the rejected tracks in your audio stack makes it easy to see the progress you've made in a single project, and you can review the comments as needed. But if you believe you no longer need to keep these tracks around, you can hover over a rejected track, then click on the "Permanently Delete" button. Alternatively, you can go to the Settings section on the right side, then click on "Delete all rejected tracks" to delete them in bulk.

Inviting Clients and Collaborators

You can invite clients and collaborators into your track workspace, so you all have read/write access to everything you see in the workspace. This could significantly cut down unnecessary emails, and increase the productivity of your mix review process. It is very easy to invite people. Click on the "Invite" button near the top right corner to bring up the Invite panel.

Your Invitees' Experience

Here, you can enter the email address of the recipient(s), and you can also optionally attach a personal message. Here's what the invitation email looks like to your invitees:

By clicking on the "Accept Invitation" button, your invitee will be brought to an Opusonix page that clearly shows that they are being invited by you (with your name on the page) to work on a particular project (with project title being displayed as well). The page would ask for their name and a preferred password to continue. This is a single-step process that takes less than 30 seconds to complete. Your invitee will join the Opusonix platform as a client, meaning that they would not receive any promotional or platform update emails from us. With Opusonix, you can deliver a clean and professional experience to your clients.

Opusonix is designed to simplify the collaboration process by eliminating all the different links. So if the client wishes to return to this project on a different day, he / she can click on the very same "accept invitation" button to return to the project. Alternatively, they can also return to their Opusonix dashboard to see the projects they're involved in.

Informing Clients About Updates

After uploading a new mix, or providing some comments, it's important to inform everyone about these changes. Opusonix lets you do a one-click push update to everyone using the "Notify Editors" button.

With this feature, you can supply a simple note to everyone involved in this project.

Your editors will receive a clean and professional email that looks like this:

Your collaborators can click on the View Project button to join your track workspace right away. This feature keeps everyone up-to-date without having to worry about creating or using the right links.

Note: The links to your projects are static. This means that even if your client clicked on an older email, they would still be brought into the same, correct, track workspace.
