Migrating your database from one computer to another

Have a new PC or Mac? Read this article to migrate your database from your old workstation to tne new one.

Personal Cloud Users

If you have been using the Personal Cloud feature on the old system, then the migration would be very simple:

  1. Install Pagico on your new computer.
  2. Sign in to your existing Pagico ID account (in the Preferences section)
  3. Turn on the Personal Cloud feature.

This is it! Pagico will then automatically connect to our server and retrieve everything you previously had on your old system. No further action is required, besides waiting for the sync to completely finish. Please note that the sync may take numerous cycles to complete, depending on the amount of data in your personal cloud.

For Users Not Enrolled in Personal Cloud

On your old system:

  1. Use the File Manager to locate your database. Normally this would be stored in your Documents folder. On Mac, your database will appear as a document with the Pagico logo on it. On Windows, your database will appear as a folder with the extension name of ".pgco".

  2. Once you found your database folder, compress it into a zip and transfer it to your new PC.

If your new computer is a Mac:

  1. Install Pagico on your Mac.
  2. Uncompress the database and place it in a preferred location.
  3. Double-click on the database to open it with Pagico
  4. Be sure to visit the Preferences section and sign in with your Pagico ID account so Pagico can reconnect with your workspaces (if any) and enable the InboxSync service.

If your new computer is a PC running Windows or Ubuntu:

  1. De-compress your database and put the ".pgco" item in your preferred location, such as your Documents folder.
  2. Install and launch Pagico. Use the menu commands Database -> Close Database to return to the Welcome screen.
  3. Choose the "Open an existing database" button, and navigate to your database folder. Select the ".pgco" item, then click on the "Open" button. If you are on a Mac, you can open this database by simple double-clicking on the database document.
  4. Be sure to visit the Preferences section and sign in with your Pagico ID account so Pagico can reconnect with your workspaces (if any) and enable the InboxSync service.

That's it!
